With the start of the new academic year we are changing things with our youth work. Neil has now left as our youth worker and we are re-organising our youth groups. This website is therefore currently slightly out of date, but will be updated as soon as possible. Please bare with us..! In the mean time please use the contact us page to request relevant up to date information.

Soul Survivor 09

Due to a clash with A-Level results and a lack of interest, for varying reasons, from other people we will not be taking a group to Soul Survivor as planned this year. If you are still interested in going there are a few options…

We could go as a group to a different week (Week A is 24-28 July or Week B is 12-16 August)
You could take yourself is small groups to one of these weeks, or to Momentum (22-26 August) – I know there are some people keen on this option.
You could go with a different church, I know of other groups who are going to the week we were intending on going to.

Weekend Away 09; Kit List (UPDATED)

The following list might help you with your packing for the weekend away…

Essentials
o   Clothes
o   Coat / waterproof
o   Slippers or indoor shoes (to save cleaning)
o   Towel
o   Washing stuff
o   Toothbrush & toothpaste
o   Bible
o   Notepad, pen etc
o   Torch
o    Old clothes & trainers/clothes & trainers you don’t mind getting mucky – this needs to include long leg trousers
o    Non marking trainers (for use in sports hall) & sports kit of some kind
o    Packed tea for Friday night
o   Cakes to share

Things not to bring
o I cannot remember the situation regarding bedding, but I think it is provided. I will contact you if this is not the case. THE CENTRE PROVIDE ALL BEDDING.
o Money – There may be a tuck shop, but apart from that there will be no opportunity to spend money, so don’t worry about bringing much. (Although you may like to offer your driver a donation towards the cost of their petrol.)

Anything else you bring is up to you, but whatever you bring please note that you are responsible for your own belongings, and that accidents do happen.

Weekend Away 09 Booking Form (web version) [pdf]

This year our weekend away is an ‘activities’ weekend. During the weekend we will participate in two challenging instructed activities such as high ropes. There are also facilities for a number of sports on site, and there is always the option of a walk by the river. Whilst we are away we will put time aside to spend with God and look at the Bible, as well as having lots of time for relaxing with friends or meeting new people. I hope you can join us.

Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis, so get your form and depost back to me (Neil) as soon as possible, but by 20th February at the latest.

February Half Term

As usual, we will be running a few socials and other special activities during half term. Plans are still being formed, but here are the initial details so you can keep the dates you are interested in free

Girls day out; Soul Sista meets Romance Academy, 1 day event on Saturday 14th February.
For girls only aged 14+. See http://www.soulsista.co.uk/dayevent/index.html for more information. Speak to Neil or one of the youth leaders ASAP if you are interested in going.
Ice Skating social. Wednesday 18th February in the evening.
Quiet Day, (rescheduled from October half term, see http://rcfyouth.wordpress.com/2008/11/14/quiet-day/). Thursday 19th February.
4th activity to be announced, hopefully on Saturday 21st February.

Make a note of these dates now! Full details and publicity will be given out very soon.
